Backups, Updates & Security

Is my website backed up? Yes — automatically, every hour on the glow and above plan, every night on the Spark plan, stored securely offsite. You don't have to do anything, ever. You can see the backup record on the Backups page of your portal. How do I restore something? Message us. We will confirm with you what date you'd like to take the site back to and, we'll take care of it. If a full restore to a specific date won't work, we can usually work to restore just the content that needs it. Who keeps my site updated? We do. WordPress itself, your plugins, your theme — updated continuously and carefully, so your site stays secure and current without breaking anything. Is my site secure? Your site runs with security hardening, monitoring, and an always-current SSL certificate (the padlock in the browser) — all managed for you. If anything ever needs your attention, we'll contact you — you won't have to discover it yourself. I got a scary email about my website Forward it to us before acting on it. A lot of what site owners receive is spam or a scam dressed up as urgency — we'll tell you in plain terms whether it's real and handle it if it is.

Getting Help

How do I reach support? Two ways, both direct: the chat bubble in your portal, or support@lumio.host. Either one reaches a real person who knows your website — not a ticket queue at a call center. You'll typically hear back within one business day, usually much sooner. My site is down or something urgent is wrong Use the same channels and say it's urgent — those messages get priority. What kind of things can I ask? Anything about your website. Changes you'd like made, something that looks off, a question about an email you received, advice on something you're planning. If it touches your site, it's a fair question.

Signing In to Your Website

How do I sign in to my website? Through your Lumio Portal — it's the way you access everything related to your website. We suggest bookmarking your portal for fast access to your sites. 1. Go to lumio.host/portal and sign in with your portal password. 2. Find your site and click Log in to your site. That's it — you land in your website's admin area, already signed in. No second password to remember: your portal password is the only one you need, and your website's own login stays locked down behind our security system. If you've forgotten your portal password, use the reset link on the portal sign-in page and we'll email you a fresh one. The link works for 15 minutes — if it slips past you, just request another. I saw a message about "Code Freeze" — what is that? Code Freeze is a protective mode on your website's security system, and it's on for every site we manage, all the time. While it's on, nothing can change your site's underlying code — no new plugins, no code edits — even from inside the admin area. It dramatically limits what an attacker could do even if they somehow got in, and it's part of how we keep your site locked down day to day. If you run into it — say, a message when trying to install something — that's the protection working, not something broken. Message us with what you're trying to do and we'll take care of it. I'm stuck, or something isn't working Sign-in hiccups trip people up — genuinely, you're not the exception.
